TERMS & CONDITIONS

  1. There are 30 bottles of the Appleton Estate 30 Year Old Jamaica Rum available for purchase in New Zealand. These 30 bottles will be allocated by random ballot on 1 March 2010 to those who have registered their interest by emailing info@appletonestate30yo.co.nz. Registrations of interest open on 1 February 2010 and close on 28 February 2010 at 23.59 and no entries will be accepted after this time. One expression of interest per person.
  2. By expressing interest in the above manner, an entrant agrees to be bound by these terms and conditions.  
  3. There is a limit of 1 bottle per person.
  4. Of the 30 bottles available, 5 bottles will be offered preferentially to members of the Appleton Estate database (selected by ballot) and 5 bottles to invited Lion Nathan liquor industry trade contacts who have registered their interest (also selected by ballot). If these 10 bottles are not purchased by Appleton Estate database members or liquor trade contacts, they will be made available to members of the public who have registered their interest (selected by ballot).
  5. Where one or a number of winners drawn at the 1 March ballot decline to purchase a bottle of Appleton Estate 30 Year Old Jamaica Rum, there will be a redraw on 5 March 2010 If any winners of the redraw decline to accept the offer those offers will cease to be available as prizes. In the event that bottles will be left over after 1 March a second ballot may be initiated to offer up any remaining bottles.
  6. Those selected by ballot to be able to purchase a bottle of Appleton Estate 30 Year Old Jamaica Rum will be telephoned or emailed on Monday 1 March (or 5 March 2010 in the case of winners of the redraw) with full payment instructions (purchase can be made via credit card using the secure transactional facilities provided by Lion Nathan’s retailer, Liquor King).
  7. Once payment has been processed, purchasers will receive a letter confirming their purchase, plus two tickets which stand as the invitation to the launch dinner at Kelliher Estate, Auckland, on Tuesday 16 March, where purchasers will receive their bottle. Purchasers should bring this invitation with them to the dinner to obtain entry.
  8. If owners are not able to attend the dinner, they can nominate two people to attend in their place. These owners can have their nominees collect their bottle or Lion Nathan will arrange secure delivery of their bottle of Appleton Estate 30 Year Old Jamaica Rum to a nominated address.
  9. Tickets to the dinner include transport to and from the venue by luxury coach with pick-up and drop off from a central Auckland location at a time yet to be specified. All other travel and accommodation expenses will be the responsibility of the purchaser.
  10. All details of the dinner including times and transport arrangements will be provided to the purchaser on payment.
  11. Non attendance at the dinner does not reduce the price of the offer.
  12. The promoter accepts no responsibility for late, lost or misdirected entries. Entries will be deemed to be void if stolen, forged, mutilated, or tampered with in any way.
  13. In the event that any prize becomes unavailable for reasons beyond the promoter’s control, the promoter may substitute a prize of equal or greater value.
  14. The promoter and its related bodies corporate shall not be liable for any loss, damage, or injury suffered or sustained (including but not limited to direct or consequential loss or loss suffered from negligence) arising directly or indirectly out of or in connection with the promotion or any prize.
  15. Only those New Zealand residents aged 18 or over will be eligible to purchase the Appleton Estate 30 Year Old Jamaica Rum and attend the dinner. Appropriate photo ID may be requested to verify age. Employees of the promoter and their immediate families are also ineligible to enter the promotion.
  16. The promoter is Lion Nathan, 111 Carlton Gore Road, Newmarket, Auckland.
  17. Lion Nathan Limited ("Lion Nathan") is committed to protecting the privacy of any personal information it holds about individuals in accordance with the applicable laws.
